About Brooklynn
Therapy with me is:
If you’re looking for a therapist who truly understands LGBTQ+ experiences without judgment, you have landed in a helpful place; you don’t have to navigate everything by yourself. I’m Brooklynn Kendall, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing in person therapy in Costa Mesa, California and tele-therapy in California and Oregon. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and couples as they work through identity, relationships, anxiety, and the impact of past hurt or stigma.
With over a decade of experience, I offer therapy that’s warm, direct, collaborative, and grounded in helping you reconnect with your authentic self. Many clients tell me they feel relief after our first conversation, because they finally feel understood without having to explain or defend who they are. My job isn’t to change you, it’s to help you build a life and relationships that feel honest, connected, and truly your own.
The boring stuff:
I am a California Licensed Psychotherapist #103221 and in Oregon #T3556. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ community, their allies, kink and polyamorous communities. My past and current work involves life changing medical diagnosis, questions surrounding sexuality and gender, and couples working through whether to get married, stay together, navigating separation with families, and healing relationship wounds. I founded The Nest Counseling Center to provide opportunities for Associate Therapists to continue their education in providing therapy to the LGBTQ Community.
Outside of therapy:
I provide knowledge rich and fun classes. I am skilled at providing lectures/presentations and creating classes on mental health issues of the LGBTQ community, HIV awareness and education and psychology of mediations in litigation. I have been a Guest Lecturer at Long Beach State University, Argosy University, Farmers Insurance Company, Adjudicate West, CHOC and the Orange County Mental Health Agency.
For my education, I attended the University of California, Irvine obtaining a Bachelors of Arts in Criminology, Law and Society and then Pepperdine University earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology.
I am an active member of CAMFT and Psy Chi International Honors Society.
I provide Clinical Supervision both at The Nest Counseling Center and with the LGBTQ Center Orange County.
My typical client:
My typical client is someone who feels like they’re carrying a lot on their own—often a high performing individual, queer, trans, non-binary, poly, or kink-affirming—and wants a therapist who “gets it” without judgment or explanation. They may be navigating big life transitions, relationships that don’t fit the traditional mold, or the stress of living authentically in a world that isn’t always welcoming. They’re looking for a space where their full self is seen and respected, and where they can work through anxiety, burnout, or identity questions with a therapist who truly understands their community
Last Bit:
I am a daughter, a friend, a mom, a wife, community member, an ally and a lover of potty jokes. To schedule an appointment or consult please call or text me at (949) 287-3942 or via email Brooklynn@BrooklynnKendall.com (I get so many SPAM calls that I am not able to pick up when you first call. I will call back within 24 hours).
